What is Whole Person, Whole System Health Care?

Naturopathic Medicine, as well as other Complementary Health Practices, believes that each person needs to be treated as an individual when addressing their health concerns. Two people may present with the same disease or condition, but they have different histories. Stress may be a key problem for one person, while exposure to heavy metals or toxins is the focus for another. These differences must be respected, and taken into account in their treatment.  It’s a simple way of acknowledging that medicine is only beginning to learn about the integrated nature of physical, mental and spiritual factors in each person’s health – yet Complimentary or Holistic practitioners have practised this way for hundreds and thousands of years.

Sandra Carter
Reiki and Healing Touch Practitioner

Sandy has been doing energy work intuitively since she was a child and is a licensed Reiki Practitioner. Reiki means "Universal Life Force Energy", and its practice originated in Japan in the early 19th Century. It became commonly practiced in North America during the late 20th century. A Reiki treatment simply involves the placement of the practitioner's hands over areas of dis-ease on the patient, with the intent of bringing the healing "Universal Life Force Energy" to them. This enables the flow of universal energy that helps reduce pain and illness, while enhancing your sense of well being, balance, and complete harmony. Sandy is also trained and experienced as a Healing Touch practitioner and is a licensed reflexologist.

Angela MacDonald, Psychotherapy
Professional Life Coach
Holistic Nutritionist

Her training in holistic nutrition augments the nutrition focus from our naturopathic doctors, helping people realize the benefits and negative effects that foods can bring. She is constantly training in the field of Mind/Body medicine to help people "create a life to really live". Angela is available for individual sessions, and provides courses in group therapy and personal growth programs. For more information, visit her website at: www.toreallylive.com
